So about 3 month's ago I signed up to do a triathlon on September 27th. I bike a lot, and can swim OK, so I figured I'd get to passable as a runner and I'm set. My goal was to just finish. Long story short, trained for a few month's, got in shape to the point where I was pretty certain I had the endurance to do OK.
And I still am pretty certain. One big issue I didn't account for. Got totally freaked out swimming the lake. I'd gone out in a lake a couple weeks ago and could get my bearings and swim fine. But it turned a bit different between the waves and the goggle fog up and the ominous shark music.
So I am officially announcing my retirement from anything that involves swimming in a body of water that doesn't have big black lines painted on the bottom and walls on the side. I have new found respect for those that have finished one of these things.
Anyways, as I begin to shill for the upcoming release of my book, my friend Mark Wolfinger of Options for Rookies interviewed me via emai.
